Terms of service

Last updated 2026-08-28

The service

We provide a tool to create, send, and track invoices, and to generate a PDF copy of each one. We are not an accountant, payment processor, or law firm, and don't provide financial or legal advice about the invoices you send.

No payment collection

Ledger does not collect payment on your behalf. Your invoices show payment instructions you provide yourself, and you mark an invoice paid manually once you've been paid some other way. We aren't a party to that payment and have no visibility into whether it actually happened.

Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of the invoices, amounts, and client details you submit, and for keeping your login credentials secure.

Acceptable use

Don't use the service to:

  • Send invoices for goods or services you didn't actually provide.
  • Send unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or abusive content.
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits or security controls.

Plans & billing

Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled; see pricing for current tiers and limits. You can cancel or change plans any time from your billing portal; access continues through the end of the paid period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Availability

We aim for reliable uptime but don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of important invoices.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is," and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from its use.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
